Australia Names Inaugural Squad for 2026 IHF Wheelchair Handball World Championship

Wheelchair Handball Australia has today announced the athletes and staff selected to represent the nation at the 2026 IHF Wheelchair Handball World Championship, to be held in Granollers, Spain, from 16–20 September 2026.
The tournament marks a milestone for the sport globally, with 12 nations from all six continents represented for the first time in the competition's history. It’s Australia’s first appearance at an official IHF 4-a-side World Championship, who will debut alongside Libya and Lithuania. Australia is also the first-ever Oceanian nation to compete at a Wheelchair Handball World Championship.
The Wheelchair Handball World Championship is played 4-a-side with mixed-gender teams, requiring a minimum of one female player on court at all times — a format that reflects the sport's inclusive foundations.
The squad, drawn from training camps held in preparation for the tournament, brings together Australia's leading wheelchair handball talent for this historic campaign.
